
The Pegasus Central Hangar Project, developed by Pegasus Airlines at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, has been completed and put into service. The project includes 2 maintenance hangars and 1 paint hangar, and the facility has commenced operations with approximately 18,000 m² of enclosed floor area and a capacity of 5 narrow-body aircraft.
According to a statement by Pegasus, the commissioning of the new hangars is expected to enable maintenance operations to be managed more rapidly and efficiently.

As Geotech Soil and Foundation Engineering, we provided geotechnical design and supervision services for the project. Following the supervision of additional geotechnical field investigations for the hangar and apron areas and the preparation of geotechnical reports, geotechnical consultancy services were provided for structural fill works and the placement and compaction quality control of apron fills. The performance of the structural and apron fills was monitored through periodic laboratory-supported inspections of borrow materials, plate load tests (PLT), California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests, nuclear density testing and sand cone tests, ensuring that the works complied with the project requirements and technical specifications.

For large-scale aviation investments, accurate assessment of ground behavior and controlled execution of fill works are critical for long-term performance, operational safety and maintenance requirements. Through the geotechnical services provided for the Central Hangar Project, we contributed to the safe and sustainable completion of the facility infrastructure.
