Designed Solution
Geotechnical engineering services provided for the underground cable duct crossing through a cut slope previously stabilized with permanent soil nails and shotcrete included:
- The crossing through the cut slope was designed using a 2000 mm diameter reinforced concrete pipe, with the underground land cables installed on racks mounted inside the pipe.
- The 2000 mm diameter reinforced concrete pipes were installed through the slope in segments using the pipe-jacking method.
- Geotechnical interaction analyses were performed for the pipe crossing installed by pipe jacking and the existing permanent soil-nailed slope stabilization system.
- During construction, the performance of the slope stabilization system under service loads was evaluated based on instrumentation and monitoring data, and on-site geotechnical consultancy services were provided.
